The Catholic Community Foundation of Northeast Indiana is pleased to announce the application timeline for the 2027 Legacy of Faith Parish Grants.

These grants support parish ministries that help form missionary disciples through evangelization, catechesis, and ongoing faith formation. Through the Legacy of Faith Parish Grant program, parishes can seek funding for initiatives that strengthen discipleship, encourage participation in parish life, and deepen love for Christ and His Church.

All parishes in the Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend are eligible to apply. Applications for 2027 grants will open on September 1, 2026, and completed applications are due by November 13, 2026.

Supporting Parish Ministry

Parish ministries are often where faith comes alive: in religious education classrooms, youth gatherings, family formation opportunities, sacramental preparation, and outreach to Hispanic and Latino Catholics.

Legacy of Faith Parish grants helps parishes invest in resources, training opportunities, and ministry activities that make these efforts more accessible, effective, and welcoming. Whether a parish is launching a new initiative or building on a promising ministry approach, grant funding can help turn a vision into meaningful service for parishioners.

Parishes are invited to apply in three primary areas of focus:

    • Catechesis: Resources and initiatives that strengthen faith formation for children, youth, and adults.
    • Youth Ministry: Programs that engage young people in discipleship, service, and prayer.
    • Hispanic Ministry: Faith formation and leadership development for Hispanic Catholics in their families, parishes, and communities.

Applying for a Grant

Parishes interested in applying are encouraged to begin identifying ministry priorities, outlining a project plan, and considering the resources needed to carry it out in 2027.

A strong application explains the parish’s need, the goals of the proposed project, the people it will serve, and the impact it is expected to have. Applicants should also prepare a realistic budget and timeline, along with a plan for how the project can be sustained through parish resources, volunteers, participant fees, or other support.

Grant awards are determined in partnership with the Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend’s Secretariat for Evangelization and Catechesis, Hispanic Ministry Office, and Office of the Bishop. Awards will be announced in mid-February 2027.

Build a Legacy of Faith

The Legacy of Faith Parish Grant program reflects a shared commitment to helping parishes cultivate vibrant communities of faith for generations to come. We are grateful for the pastors, parish staff members, volunteers, catechists, youth ministers, and ministry leaders who give their time and talents to make this ministry possible.

Today’s parishes, schools, and ministries are strengthened by the generosity of those who came before us. Through a current gift or a thoughtfully established fund, you can carry that legacy forward—helping parishes form missionary disciples, strengthen families, and share the love of Christ for years to come.
